Our friends at are on a mission to build a more informed community around good food. The app, which in November of last year, has just released brand new features specifically targeted at keeping people “in the know” about good food in their communities.Foodstanddebuted with much acclaim at the New York Tech Meetup

“We know if we want to make good eating accessible to all, we first need to create a place where interested people can come together to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and to connect deeply—both online and offline,” says Summer Rayne Oakes, Director of Marketing and Community. “When we do that, more people can harness the power and knowledge of the good food movement to shop, cook, and eat better every day.”

The Foodstand community already has thousands of community members who range from food professionals, including farmers, foodmakers, chefs, caterers, writers and bloggers to people who are just merely curious about better eating and the good food movement.

“Our members were very interested in connecting with and learning from one another, so now you can use our community-based app to do just that. Foodstanders can share interesting events, offers from good food businesses, tips like kitchen hacks or must-try menu items, questions, news, announcements, and even chuckleworthy items that are just for fun,” say Co-founder and CEO, Rachna Govani.

Anyone on the Foodstand app will be able to contribute, upvote, and discuss content, so members can stay on the frontline of what’s happening in good food. Foodstand will also feature Certified Contributors who will frequently contribute to specific interest areas—from wellness and nutrition to the latest food ventures. Contributors include Terry Romero, bestselling vegan cookbook author and Food & Crafts Lead at Kickstarter; the Barnraiser team; Patricia Duffy, Food entrepreneur and host of Community Table; Jessica Sennett from Cheese Grotto, and more.

“We recognize that the people who are interested in a healthier food system are incredibly diverse, but we’re all united around the belief that everyone has the right to eat well, which means good, clean, healthy food grown, made and sourced responsibly. Foodstand is a way for people to connect, converse, and form strong relationships across the movement to stay informed and help make that a reality,” says Govani. “When we do that, we’ll be able to put good food back on the map.
